RaceWire: 2015 in Review

It’s been a great year for RaceWire and a lot of it has to do with the amazing race directors and runners that we work with. We decided to take a walk down memory lane to visit some of our 2015 accomplishments.

Our runners covered a total of 2,214,823 miles, which is enough to get around the earth 88 times. Wow. That’s a lot of miles. That’s more than 3 BILLION meters, or 8.5 million laps around a track. Who has the time?! Not us, that’s for sure.

We uploaded 650,395 images for our runners – all free for them to download, print, or share on social media. And share they did…

Women, again, pulled ahead of men for total finishers, at 57% and 43%, respectively.  That’s what we call girl power right there.

The demographic most represented in our races was 30-39 year olds, taking up 22.4% of our total runners. A close second was 40-49 year olds at 20.7%. The RaceWire team internally did not run enough, so we didn’t bump up the numbers for 20-29. That will have to be our New Year’s Resolution.

We created a whole new registration platform (we’ll call it a face lift), and developed a new and inexpensive way to time races with RaceWire Lite. We listened to your feedback, and implemented changes. We saw great success in first year races, and we revisited with our returning favorites. You made us better, and for that we thank you. Here is to a happy and healthy 2016… we are excited to see what it brings!
